History

The Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) of the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta was established based on the Regulation of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia Number 6 of 2013 concerning Organization and Working Procedures of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This institution was founded on the basis of awareness and response to the importance of integrating research activities and community service to support the achievement of Plan targets Strategic Plan (Renstra) for UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to penetrate the ranking of the top 500 world class universities in 2036.

Mission
Developing a strong academic environment through the establishment of research centers, scientific consortia, discussion communities, and strengthening scientific specialization.
Develop research and community service programs with the spirit of integration of Islam, Science and Technology with Indonesian characteristics.
Developing a database of university resources to strengthen the capacity and quality of the academic community in supporting the development of research, publications and community service that contribute nationally and global.
Encourage the development of superior research at national and international levels in collaboration with world class universities, government, industry, civil society organizations and research institutions.
